Get ready for a truly magical May Half Term at Fairytale Farm, as Once Upon a Unicorn and Dragon returns from 23rd May to 31st May 2026 — and this year it’s bigger than ever, because it also coincides with the opening of our brand new Journey to Alice’s Wonderland ride.
From unicorn encounters and dragon adventures to themed crafts, fantasy trails and magical family fun, this is one of the most enchanting times of the year to visit. And with our exciting new Alice ride opening too, there has never been a better time to enjoy a day out at Fairytale Farm.
A magical event packed with fantasy fun
Meet the regal Unicorn Queen and enjoy enchanting photo opportunities with her and her beautiful unicorns. For children who dream of a truly unforgettable moment, unicorn rides are available as an optional extra*.
Across the Farm, little adventurers can step into a world of fantasy. Discover our interactive display, where Mother Goose and her friends have befriended a lone unicorn journeying through the glade. Explore the magical world of Fairy Dell, filled with giant mushrooms, bridges, climbing challenges and fairy-sized adventure.
Take on our Unicorn & Dragon Fact Finder Trail Quest through Fairy Dell and Fairytale Castle’s fortress, and complete both quests to receive a treat. In Crafts Corner, children can make their own unicorn waving wand and fire-breathing dragon puppet to take home.
There is even more magic in store with our Dragon Master Knight, who will teach children to speak Dragonese before they try their commands on a baby fairy tale dragon. Visitors can also enjoy Mystical Makeovers from the Fairytale Face Painting team for a small additional charge, as well as hands-on fun in our Small Animal Petting Area.
Children are warmly encouraged to dress to impress in their most magical outfit — whether that’s a unicorn rider, brave knight, fairy, dragon tamer or storybook hero. Children who arrive in costume will receive a sweet treat on arrival.
NEW – Journey to Alice’s Wonderland opens this May Half Term
Adding even more excitement to May Half Term, our brand new Journey to Alice’s Wonderland ride is open during the event period.
This enchanting new family ride invites guests to climb aboard one of our charming snail-themed vehicles and set off on a magical adventure inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Along the way, you’ll encounter much-loved characters including Alice, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar and the Queen of Hearts, brought to life through imaginative scenes, lighting, sound and special effects. It is the perfect new addition to Fairytale Farm and a wonderful companion to the fantasy fun of Once Upon a Unicorn and Dragon.
There is no extra charge for the ride, and you can enjoy it as many times as you like during your visit.

There is no special event ticket needed — simply book your standard admission tickets.
*Unicorn rides are available for an additional charge and can be added at checkout.

Important information for parents booking a unicorn ride
- Minimum age: 2 years
- Maximum weight: 7 stone
- Maximum height: 150cm
- Children remain the responsibility of the parent/carer at all times
- Children must wear suitable clothing and enclosed shoes
- Ponies can be unpredictable, so children must follow instructions when handling and riding
- Children will be led at all times, and parents/carers may walk alongside if they wish
- Please wash hands after touching animals using the hand wash station provided
- Safety hats are provided
- We are sorry, but no refunds can be given if your child does not ride, as once a slot is booked it cannot be offered to another child
