Opening on 16th May 2026, Journey to Alice’s Wonderland is a brand-new immersive family dark ride that transports visitors deep into the curious, colourful and gloriously eccentric world of one of the best-loved children’s stories ever written.

Glide gently through a series of richly themed scenes where Wonderland comes to life around you. Along the way, you’ll encounter Alice, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar, the Queen of Hearts and more — all brought vividly to life with detailed animatronic characters, atmospheric lighting and an enchanting soundscape that surrounds riders from beginning to end.

Inspired by the original story and its classic storybook world, Journey to Alice’s Wonderland has been created as a magical family experience full of surprise, imagination and timeless character. This is Wonderland as generations have loved it — playful, peculiar and wonderfully full of invention.

A very special Oxfordshire connection

There is also a very special reason why this attraction belongs in Oxfordshire. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was written by Lewis Carroll, whose life and work were closely linked to Oxford.

That makes Journey to Alice’s Wonderland the first permanent Alice in Wonderland ride in Oxfordshire — bringing this timeless literary classic home to the county that inspired it.

For families visiting Fairytale Farm, that means more than just a new ride. It is a chance to experience one of Britain’s most famous and enduring stories in the very county where its roots belong.

A remarkable transformation

Behind the scenes, Journey to Alice’s Wonderland also represents a remarkable feat of reinvention.

The original ride system began life as the much-loved Snail Trail at Watermouth Castle Theme Park in Devon. For its new home at Fairytale Farm, it has been extensively modified and upgraded, with a new control system, upgraded sensors, motors and other major technical improvements.

This careful transformation has allowed a cherished ride system to begin an exciting new chapter — completely reimagined as an immersive journey through Wonderland.
