Baby rheas doing well

altOur two baby rheas, both of which were born in August, are doing great. The elder of the two is our beautiful white rhea, which is now five weeks old. Called Snowie, she is a rare breed of rhea and looks simply stunning when she opens her wings to run. The brown rhea, called Prince, is about three weeks old. They both live in a temporary heated rhea house in the farm shop, but will soon be old enough to live outside. We have erected a huge rhea house in their future enclosure and the fencing is going up in the next two weeks.

Photos of the two beautiful birds in action yesterday can be viewed here.
